The Bites of Bee Cave turned
out to be a huge hit and we couldn't be happier!! The support
from the community surpassed our expectations. The event was
extremely family oriented with the kids enjoying the petting
zoo, bouncy house and snow cones all while the adults enjoyed
the incredible food from all of our supporting restaurants and
the live music.
Bee Cave Rotary had their social
located at Art Attack in the Hill Country Galleria on Tuesday, Sept.
6, 2011 from 5:30-7:30pm. Everyone showed their “artistic skills” by
painting a plate in donation to the Rotary’s annual signature event,
The Bites of Bee Cave on October 1, 2011 from 11-4pm.

The Bee Cave Rotary recently donated $1,000
to the Lake Travis Crisis Ministries. Club President Laura
Mitchell presented the check to Dabney Cauley of LTCM to support
the mission and good work of the local organization. LTCM has
operated in the Lake Travis area for more than 20 years,
providing food,
clothing, financial assistance, or whatever is necessary for
individuals in need. Their boundaries are the Lake Travis
Independent School District boundaries, yet no one is turned
away for food.
Lake Travis Crisis Ministries is supported through donations and
the generosity of the Lake Travis and greater Austin
communities. New volunteers are welcome at any time. Contact
the Ministries at (512) 266-9810, or visit them in the Liberty
Center at 107 RR 620 South, or on the Web at
www.laketraviscrisisministries.org.
The Bee Cave
Rotary club stuffed backpacks with everything from clean socks,
bottled water, canned foods and toiletries for Lifeworks; a local
non-profit addressing critical needs for children and youth in the
Austin area.

The Bee Cave
Rotary club sponsored to send 10 kiddos to summer camp this year
with the Friends of Refugees.

On the
first Tuesday of each month, Fish City Grill partners with a
local non-profit to donate 15% of their proceeds for the day
to their cause. In March, Fish City hosted the Bee Cave
Rotary club and gave the club a donation of over $600 for
various local projects including adopting an elderly Lake
Travis resident in need of home repairs and yard work. The
club intends to return quarterly to assist with additional
repairs as needed.
Members of the Bee Cave
Rotary turned out in force on a recent Saturday to complete
much-needed repairs on the home of an elderly local resident
identified through the Lake Travis Crisis Ministry. In a little
more than half a day, the enthusiastic Rotarians installed two
new window air-conditioners and power-washed and repaired the
roof, while other members of the group cleared out and then
mowed and weeded her yard.
Funds for the repairs
were made possible by donations from area businesses including
Vintage Villas, the Hills of Lakeway Golf Club, Lakeway Market,
A+ Federal Credit Union, Best Buy, Steiner Ranch Steakhouse and
others. The donated prizes were raffled off at the Chamber of
Commerce’s SpringFest, and the proceeds used to purchase
supplies for the project. Generous discounts and donations were
also provided by Lowe’s, The Home Depot and Eco-Depot.
